FAQ
Who creates the piano arrangements?
All arrangements are created by me, Jakob Linowitzki.
Who is behind this website?
This website is entirely run by me. It’s not a company project – I’m responsible for all the content.
Why don’t you sell directly on the website?
First, setting up a global online shop would involve a lot of bureaucracy. Second, I can only sell copyrighted works legally through Musicnotes.com. That’s why I cooperate with them instead of selling directly here.
Are there any free sheet music pieces available?
Writing high-quality arrangements takes a lot of time and effort. For that reason, I don’t offer free sheet music – quality work deserves fair compensation.
Is it legal to buy your pieces?
Yes, absolutely! Through my cooperation with Musicnotes.com, all copyright requirements are fully respected.
I’m a piano teacher. Can I buy a piece and make copies for my students?
No, that would be illegal. Copying would violate both the composer’s copyright (or whoever owns the rights) and my copyright as the arranger. Each student needs to purchase their own copy, even if you’re teaching at a music school with general licensing agreements. These do not apply here.
Am I allowed to perform a piece publicly?
In principle, yes. However, depending on your country, you may need to notify a copyright collection society (and possibly pay a fee). In Germany, for example, this is handled by GEMA. For other countries, please check the local regulations.
How often are new arrangements added?
As often as I can manage to write them! I put a lot of effort into creating new material regularly.
Why aren’t there arrangements of Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc.?
Unfortunately, not all copyright holders cooperate with Musicnotes.com. For example, music from Harry Potter or Star Wars currently can’t be legally arranged or sold there. Some people do it anyway, but I don’t take part in illegal activities.
How does the difficulty scale work?
The difficulty scale consists of 20 levels. You can find more information about it here!
Why are there multiple versions of the same piece?
I offer different versions of the same piece to cover multiple difficulty levels – and sometimes even different playing styles.
On Musicnotes.com, can I really only print and not download?
I have no control over how Musicnotes.com handles this. Please check their website for details.
Can I submit requests for songs or difficulty levels?
Yes, absolutely! Use the contact form to send me your ideas – whether it’s a specific song, a particular difficulty level, or even a four-hand version. I’m happy to hear your suggestions!
